2019 State Legislative Wrap Up

Session Ends with $78M increase in Housing Investments

Over the Memorial Day weekend, state lawmakers passed a state budget which secured $78 million in new investments for emergency shelter, rental assistance, preservation and new production.  In total, Minnesota Housing received appropriations of $120,596,000, including a $5 million one-time increase for the Economic Development and Housing Challenge program in FY 2020 (available during this year's RFP) and increases in base funding for:

  • Family Homeless Prevention and Assistance Program (FHPAP)
  • Homework Starts with Home
  • Bridges
  • Manufactured Home Park Redevelopment Program
  • Workforce Affordable Homeownership Program
